Sennyuji Temple Overview

Sennyu-ji Temple is famous as the family temple of successive emperors and the imperial family, and is revered and referred to as ``Temple.''
When you enter the temple gate, the first thing you will see is the Yang Guifei Kannon, which is dedicated to Yang Guifei, one of the world's three most beautiful women.

Please pray for beauty. You can enjoy the view overlooking the temple from the main gate, which is rare among temples in Kyoto.

When you go down the hill, you will find the Shariden where the bones of Buddha are enshrined. It is not normally available for viewing, but we will provide a special tour.

Here, we will take a look at the ceiling painting by Kano Sansetsu's ``Naryu'' and explain about Naryu.
Afterwards, we entered the main temple's throne room and saw the waiting rooms for the Emperor, Empress, and other members of the imperial family.

After viewing the courtyard, we will take you on a special visit to Reimeiden (Imperial Throne Hall).
Afterwards, you will experience flower arranging using the Tsukiwa Misho style of flower arrangement, which was founded at Sennyuji Temple, the family temple of the Imperial Family. Tsukiwa Misho-ryu has been inherited by successive elders of Sennyu-ji Temple.

It begins with the dedication of flowers to successive members of the imperial family.

Learn philosophy such as heaven and earth harmony and quotation harmony from teachers who are qualified as masters, and learn to appreciate the blessings of nature and cherish life.

Through flower arranging, you will reconsider yourself and utilize your own sense of beauty as you experience flower arranging.

Yang Guifei Guan Yin
Yang Guifei Kannon, one of the world's three most beautiful women. A statue of the Holy Kannon, modeled after the life-size seated statue of Yang Guifei, is enshrined here.
There is a tradition that this statue was carved out of fragrant wood to commemorate the deceased queen, and until 1956, it is a valuable statue that was only unveiled once every 100 years.
Nowadays, it is known as a power spot that can make women's wishes come true.
